A 2nd Cup was founded 11 years ago out of a passion to see justice for the vulnerable in our community, blending heart and hand, retail and restoration, strategy and fight, coffee and calling.

We’ve been honored to work alongside so many incredible people, and to be engaged in the fight against human trafficking for the past 11 years, and to have held our space in the Heights community for the past seven years. In that time, we’ve seen thousands become aware and engaged in the fight, we’ve partnered with over 75 organizations, and supported over 50 individuals through our Brazen Table program.

Our Founder, Erica Raggett, always saw A 2nd Cup as a place of healing for survivors through restorative employment and holistic care. Beginning in 2018, we set the course for a strategic vision that would allow our organization to serve trafficking survivors in an even deeper way – operating a multi-streamed social enterprise that allows us to provide much needed stability and support through such employment.

Since 2020, we have been seeking a space to expand and open our second location. We are excited to announce we will be opening a satellite location in the third ward in early 2023. This summer, we also received news that our longtime friends, partners, and landlord – Vineyard Church of Houston – needed to sell the building we call home for the financial health of their church. This sale will be completed in November 2022, and will be closing our 11th St location in December 2022.

However, we have found a new home a few miles away in the Lindale park neighborhood and anticipate opening that space in late 2022. In addition to allowing us to grow our culinary, catering, and coffee offerings, these new spaces will allow us to connect to new pockets of the community and deepen our capacity to provide training and employment to survivors of trafficking.

It is with your support that we have grown into the organization we are – and are continuing to move boldly down the path of being a place of hope and healing for survivors of trafficking.
