Building culinary skills for sustainable employment.
About the Program
Brazen Table is our holistic culinary training program that provides tangible skills and experiences to survivors of human trafficking and individuals facing significant barriers to employment, to enable them to find worthwhile and sustaining employment as they rebuild their lives.
Finding and maintaining life-giving employment not only provides for the financial needs of our graduates, but also serves as a means to independence and self agency so crucial to their ability to flourish. With a well-trained staff, deep ties to the anti-trafficking community and knowledge of the food and hospitality industry, A 2nd Cup is working to fill the gaps in education and experience.
Virtual program
The pandemic has changed pretty much everything we do at A 2nd Cup, including the Brazen Table program. Typically, our programming is all done in-person, but 2020 has provided us the opportunity to offer Brazen Table to an even greater number of participants through this new virtual program.
There are two versions of the virtual program:
1) The Team-Based version is a more structured and interactive 8-week program, providing tools and resources to follow along with the digital content. This version requires a referral form from a case manager.
2) The Self-Led version is very flexible, allowing participants complete the program as quickly or slowly as they would like. Participants in this version of the program must supply all their own materials.
Both versions require participants to have access to the internet and a kitchen with a sink, refrigerator, stove and oven.
*Applications are closed for the team-based program. Applications received now will be saved for the session beginning in April.

The barriers to employment for survivors are many, as they attempt to overcome lost years of education, the physical, mental, and emotional side effects of their trauma, lack of relevant experience, and a minimal network to assist in the job search process. We are walking alongside survivors to push through these barriers and you can join us! Financially support their journey by sponsoring a portion of or their entire training!
